Holmes County School District had an increase in student enrollment during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Florida Department of Education. Overall, there was a total of 3,233 students enrolled in the district in the academic year.

Data reveals that the majority of students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year were white, representing 87% of the Holmes County School District total enrollment.

Additionally, the largest portion of students in the district are enrolled in elementary school grades, making up 44.8% of the total enrollment.

Holmes County School District covers eight schools within Holmes County, with its main office in Bonifay.

Among the eight schools in Holmes County School District, Bonifay K-8 School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,192 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In 2022, Florida had more than 2.8 million students enrolled in a total of 4,202 schools. There were 163,558 teachers in the public schools, or roughly one teacher for every 17 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.

Private school enrolment increased by more than 51,000 students in the 2021-22 school year, which was a notable rebound after the pandemic. In total, there were 416,084 students enrolled, marking the highest enrollment in private schools reported by the Florida Department of Education in 30 years.
