Baby Story Time

•    Mondays at 10:30 a.m. – Pensacola Library

•    Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. – Tryon Library

Join us for stories, songs and rhymes. This program is suggested for babies ages 0 to 2 years and their caregivers but open to everyone.

 

Beginning Tai Chi for Adults

•    Fridays in February at 11 a.m. – Pensacola Library

Join us for Beginning Tai Chi for Adults focusing on the “Pensacola Eight Form” taught by Steve Cupps. Call (850)436-5060 to register, registration is required.

 

Bellview Book Club

•    Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. – Bellview Library

Join us as we discuss “Legendborn” by Tracey Deonn.

 

Black History Bingo

•    Friday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. – Bellview Library

Join us and learn about Black History fun facts and accomplishments while winning fun family friendly prizes. A double win! All ages are welcome.

 

Black History Scavenger Hunt

•    Wednesday, Feb. 8 at noon and 5 p.m. – Westside Library

Stop by the Children’s Section of the library to participate in a Black History Month Scavenger Hunt! We ask that children under the age of 8 to be accompanied by an adult.

 

Cosmic Valentine’s Card

•    Tuesday, Feb. 14 at noon and 5 p.m. – Westside Library

Celebrate “Extraterrestrial Culture Day” by making a cosmic Valentine's card. We ask that children under the age of 8 be accompanied by an adult.

 

Crafternoons: Love Bugs

•    Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1-2 p.m. – Bellview Library

Stop by and make a love bug craft with us for our monthly Crafternoon. All ages are welcome. All materials are provided while supplies last.

 

Crafty Cards

•    Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. – Pensacola Library

Come customize a Valentine’s Day card for those you love!

 

Elmo’s Birthday Party!

•    Friday, Feb. 3 at 4-5:30 p.m. – Bellview Library

Join us as we celebrate Sesame Street’s Elmo’s birthday! Elmo arts and crafts, as well as coloring stations will be available for children of all ages to enjoy. Cake and snacks will be provided while supplies last.

 

Embrace Self-care with Sugar Scrub

•    Friday, Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m. – Pensacola Library

Embrace a little self-care in the “month of love” by stopping in to make your very own batch of sugar scrub.

 

Family Story Time at Your Library

February is “Healthy Heart Awareness Month”! Keep your heart pumping by moving your feet during our Just Dance party!

 

Kids Book Club

•    Friday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. – Molino Library

Local Author Book Talk: “The Crystal Beads: Lalka’s Journey”

•    Saturday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. – Southwest Library

"The Crystal Beads: Lalka's Journey" by local author Pat Black-Gould, is a book about a young girl who is forced to make a difficult decision. Will her choice be enough to save her life?

 

LEGO Night

•    Thursday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. – Century Library

Stop by for a fun-filled evening of LEGOs! LEGO sets will be provided by the library.

 

Molino Book Club

•    Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10:30 a.m. – Molino Library

Join us as we read "Sea of Tranquility" by Emily St. John Mandel.

 

Macramé Club

•    Friday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. – Pensacola Library

Explore and grown your creative side and learn how to macramé with us! Each month we aim to teach different knots techniques and make one-of-a-kind treasures!

 

Origami by Design

•    Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. – Century Library

Join us for an origami craft! Craft a butterfly or flower or design your own idea!

 

Pajama Story Time and Stuffed Animal Sleepover

•    Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m. – Pensacola Library

Celebrate Teddy Day with a stuffed animal sleepover! Stop by with your stuffed best friend for a special pajama story time. Then, leave your bestie at the library so they can enjoy a sleepover full of fun and shenanigans. Pick-up your friend and a special photo album showing all their overnight fun from Saturday, February 11 to Friday, February 17.

 

Pensacola Opera at the Library

•    Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m. – Tryon Library

•    Thursday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. – Molino Library

•    Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1:30 p.m. – Bellview Library

Join representatives from the Pensacola Opera at West Florida Public Libraries for a special adaptation of the Bremen Town Musicians. The suggested audience for these performances is preschool to fourth grade.

 

Presidential Paper Plates

Celebrate Presidents’ Day with us as we craft Presidential Paper Plates!

 

Sewing with STEAM for Grown-Ups

•    Fridays at 10 a.m. – Tryon Library

Do you like to sew, or would you like to learn? Come join us as we have fun exploring the world of sewing. All skill levels welcome. We always have beginners’ projects available to get you started or you can bring in whatever you are currently working on. The library provides sewing machines, scissors, thread  and other accessories to help you on your sewing journey.

 

Silhouette with STEAM for Grownups

•    Fridays at 4 p.m. – Tryon Library

Want to learn new crafting techniques? Join us each Friday and learn all the ways you can create with the Silhouette vinyl machine. Everything from cards to stickers to cutting fabric, our silhouette machines have lots of uses. Supplies provided for each week's planned project.

 

Snack n’ Study for Teens

•    Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 3:30 p.m. – Southwest Library

•    Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. – Southwest Library

•    Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 3:30 p.m. -Southwest Library

Shhhh! Need somewhere quiet? Come to the library to study, work in groups, complete homework and do other quiet projects. Snacks will be provided! Recommended for ages 13-18.

 

STEAM: Build a Heart

•    Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 10:30 a.m. – Westside Library

•    Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. – Century Library

Learn all about your heart with the STEAM team! Explore all the functions of your heart and make a functioning model out of household items. Recommended ages are 6 to 13 years old.

 

Tryon Tuesday Teddy Bear’s Picnic

•    Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. – Tryon Library

Picnic time for Teddy Bears! Bring your best bear buddy from home and join us for stories, songs and treats.

 

Unicorn, Mermaid, Fairy Princess Sparkle Party

•    Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m. – Pensacola Library

Unicorns… Mermaids… Princesses… Oh my! Join us for a stupendous sparkle party filled with activities and crafts! Costumes are encouraged. Suggested for youth and their families.

 

Valentine’s Bingo

•    Friday, Feb. 17 at noon and 5 p.m. – Westside Library

Join us for some Valentine’s Day themed Bingo! We ask that youth under the age of 8 be accompanied by an adult.

 

Valentine Hands

•    Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. – Century Library

Show someone how much you love them with a “hand crafted” Valentine’s Day card! All materials will be provided by the library.

Holiday Closure Notice: All WFPL locations will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20, in observance of Presidents Day. All WFPL locations will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
