Grief Support Group

13

Blountstown United Methodist Church will be offering a thirteen-week GriefShare® Support Group beginning Tuesday, June 21st through Tuesday, September 13th. The group will meet at Blountstown United Methodist Church in the fellowship hall from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 pm. (CDT).

Grief is a very personal and emotional process, and everyone handles it differently. There are others who understand what you are going through. With a GriefShare® Support Group you’ll learn how to go through a healthy season of grieving that will help you transition to emotional and spiritual wholeness. GriefShare® is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. There are other losses in life that create real feelings of grief; this is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare® sessions. It is the goal of GriefShare® that you’ll discover hope for the future. While things may look bleak now, you’ll learn ways to restore your hope and rebuild your life. Many GriefShare® alumni have said that the program helped them move from deep grief to peace and a sense of joy again.

During each weekly session participants will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects, participate in group discussions about what was presented in that week’s video and what is going on in your lives and use workbook and journal entries for further personal study of the grieving process. Sessions are self-contained meaning you can join at any point during the 13-week session and don’t have to attend every session to stay on track with the group.

To register for GriefShare® Support Group contact Blountstown United Methodist Church office at 850-674-8254 ext. 3144, bunitedmc@gmail.com or stop by the Blountstown UM Church office at 20500 Central Avenue West, across from the Subway restaurant.
