The senior girls battled for gridiron dominance over the sophomore and junior girls yesterday under sunny skies and lovely breezes. "Team Black" had a grim start when "Team White" came out of the gate hot and immediately scored, but after some excellent direction from Coach Marshall Heim and his team, the senior girls were victorious and proudly maintained the history of bragging rights. Special thanks to Chef Bronia Jenkins, who graciously grilled hot dogs in between cheers for the girls. Thanks also to the junior class cheerleaders, whose delightful attire and team spirit provided an added element to the entertainment.
This game was unique in that most of the players were not aware of the tradition because of the Covid restrictions of the last two years, so to be together on the field and in the stands was especially sweet for parents, teachers and students. Thank you, Abigail McGee, Mr. MacMullan, Dean Padgett and Dr. Baron for supporting the return of the competition! Professional, downloadable photos will be available next week.
