St. Edward's School issued the following announcement on March 25.
Ms. Buckley's Marine Biology Honors class had a special guest lecture from SES alumnus Emmanuel Mejia-Galvan '16 last week to discuss the importance of coral reefs. Emmanuel is in his last semester at the University of West Florida completing his master's degree in marine biology and biological oceanography. As part of his Biology of Coral Reefs course, he was tasked with making a change in an effort to reduce the death of corals around the world. He thought the best approach would be to spread awareness and educate members of the upcoming generation about the importance of corals. Emmanuel provided a wonderful and educational presentation that helped connect concepts the Marine Bio Honors students have already learned into a larger, real-world picture. Thanks, Emmanuel!
