Tuesday, September 29, 2020
12:00 PM 1:00 PM
Join Hudson Institute and the Manufacturing Policy Initiative (MPI) at Indiana University for a discussion series entitled “Strengthening U.S. Manufacturing.” The discussions will conclude with Manufacturing Day on October 2, 2020, with an event hosted by MPI featuring representatives of the presidential campaigns.
The event will address the loss of substantial manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. through outsourcing and the weakening of the industrial commons in recent decades. It will also address options that policymakers can employ to reverse the trend.
Panel experts will summarize the impact of increased reliance on outsourcing on the strength and competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing while also suggesting policy changes U.S. leaders can take to curtail and reverse the trends.
Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Tom Duesterberg will moderate the event.
